The Popularity Of Cell Phones

Top 10 Cell Phones in the World!

Wireless phones have become an extremely popular item in the United States and abroad. Years ago, before cell phones were popular, many people who encountered emergency situations while out traveling would be unable to communicate with others for help. The poor stranded person would just have to sit there and hope for a police officer to notice them, or either try to walk to a pay phone. If the emergency situation happened while on a busy highway, it could be very dangerous to get out of your car and start walking.

Many people have been killed because they didn't realize how close they were to the high speed traffic zooming past. Upon exit from their vehicle, while their vehicle is parked on the side shoulder, they have been hit by oncoming traffic. Of course, there was no way that they could have survived, because the impact was just too hard and fast.

If someone has car trouble on a freeway, they still have to be very careful, despite the fact that they may have a cell phone. After the tow truck has been called, the person has to carefully exit the vehicle. If exiting through the passenger's side appears to be the safest route, then by all means, use it.

Many larger corporations provide cell phones for all their employees. The reason that they do this is because it's an easier what for them to keep in touch with them, especially while on business trips, or simply out in the field.

A majority of households is choosing to get rid of their landline phones and use on a wireless phone. This way, it saves them money and also provides more convenience. If a person has a cell phone, they will never have to worry about missing an important phone call. The phone is always with them, making it easy to use any time necessary, whether you're in a mall shopping for new clothes, or at the post office shipping of packages.

It is also unnecessary to pay for a land line phone if you are always going and using your mobile phone. Why waste money when you, could you it to pay for extra features or more minutes on your cell? Well, some people make way too many calls on their cells, significantly increasing the bill. For these individuals, maybe keeping both phones would be best!

Dangerous Cell Phone Usage

SOME DANGERS KIDS FACE WHILE USING CELL PHONES...

Cell phones are handy little devices that people everywhere have come to rely on. They are easy to use, small, making it easy to stash them anywhere, as well as convenient. What most people don't realize, though, is the potential danger associated with using a cell phone. This can happen in many ways.

The first way that a cell phone can be dangerous is at a gas station. Although most people have never paid much attention, most gas stations, post warning signs near the pumps, warning customers of cell phone usage while pumping gas. The gas station owners are afraid of an electrical spark from the mobile phone somehow causing an explosion. Even though the ability of cell phones causing gas station fires is unsubstantiated, some areas are strict about enforcing the rule of not using a cell phone while pumping gas. Some states will even issue a fine for anyone caught using a wireless phone at a gas pump.

One very serious danger of using a cell phone is while driving. There are several ways that driving while having a cell phone conversation can be dangerous. First, a person may not properly pay attention to the road as they are dialing a phone number. This could result in a car accident. Also, a person could be so engrossed in a conversation that the same result could occur. It's doesn't matter if the conversation is negative or positive, it could still cause an accident. A person could be arguing with someone, causing them to be upset and suffer from impaired judgment. They may miscalculate the time that they have to make a certain turn, or make a similar mistake that they wouldn't have made had they not been involved in a cell phone conversation. Even if the driver is having a pleasant conversation, it is still possible for them to become so engrossed in the good news or whatever it may be, that they may a serious mistake that causes a car accident. Car accidents are usually very serious, too. People can get seriously injured or even killed. And if the police find out that the person causing the accident was using a cell phone as they drove, that person could be charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Who wants to risk going to jail, just to use a cell phone while they drive? No one does. This is why people need to practice more responsible habits while using mobile phones. Sure, wireless phones are convenient and important, but using them in the wrong situation can have some tragic consequences.

What Age Is An Appropriate Cell Phone Age?

The demands of kids are getting more and more difficult to keep up with. Once upon a time the biggest thing on a twelve year-old's wish list was a new bicycle. Now kids want cell phones at younger and younger ages. How old is old enough to purchase the ever desired cell phone? How young is too young?

Cell phone shopping for younger children can be very difficult. Depending on the age of the child it is possible they have not developed enough self restraint to handle a cell phone. School work may suffer as may other social relationships.

Cell phones now come with internet access, which can present dangers unknown to your child. Easily downloadable information may not be age appropriate. Cell phones also offer children's private communication abilities through text messaging.

It is not necessary to activate all of the possible features that come with a cell phone, but understanding your own child's limitations can help you know what is truly appropriate for them at their age. Private texting can lead to highly inappropriate conversations. Unlike instant messaging or phone conversations, texts can be deleted permanently and a parent has no recourse to determine whether a child is having innocent conversations with their friends or are being enticed into dangerous and self destructive behaviors.

They now have cell phones more appropriately geared toward young children. These phones come with a parental control feature that allow access to preset phone numbers such as reaching mom at work, 911 access, and several preset phone numbers of the parents' choice, The cell phone requires a pass code to access any changes to the phone's capabilities to prevent the child from listing their own phone numbers in their cell phone.

The appropriate age for taking a child cell phone shopping is truly up to the parent. If a parent thinks that a cell phone has beneficial uses for their child and can handle the limitations imposed as well as basic honesty, then cell phones can be excellent lessons in responsibility. Cell phones can help teach self imposed limitations as well as enhance parental communications. A parent can reach their child at all times to inform them of changes or request their presence at home.

Cell phones can be vital in an emergency. While nobody ever expects an emergency to occur, in the event of one your child and you can remain in communication if they have a cell phone. Sometimes it can be the safest form of communication in an emergency situation. Children who have cell phones can almost always reach their parents.

How To View Features In A Cell Phone

The mobile phone market is growing rapidly. New brands of cell phone and new accessories keep entering the market frequently. People have to contend with the wide range of choices available to them, which makes the task of selection of the right cell phone or the right accessory extremely difficult.

The most popular cell phone manufacturers are Nokia, LG, Siemens, Sony Ericcson and few others. The quality of cell phone manufactured by these companies is extremely good. These brands compete with each other in terms of features in their cell phones, bargain offers and also the prices. People with a moderate knowledge about cell phones can distinguish between the good and bad models, and discrepancies in each model. However, there is no way in which a person with no knowledge of cell phones can accomplish the above task.

The time when cell phones were used just for the purpose of communicating is long gone. Cell phones today come with a number of additional features like multimedia support and connect with other devices like computers. This makes them capable of being used as multipurpose devices. The Pros and Cons of VoIP Phone Service System

There is this notion that says the best things in life are free. How would you react to the fact that you may place long distance calls all over the world for free? Yes, apart from the United States, you can also call anyone in Puerto Rico, Canada, and many others without an extra cost. That is if you have availed of the VoIP long distance phone service.

It is indeed satisfying to note that you have this cool feature, but the mere fact that you may use it to talk with the people whom you care about in several countries is a very precious thing! This is the feature that many customers die for and is also the very same reason as to why numerous other customers prefer to sign up for this service.

Here is the catch-the VoIP phone service system keeps individuals in touch despite their varying geographical locations. All that must be done is to take note of the phone number and presto, you may connect over the web without further charges!

The Good Sides Identified

The following are the best features that you may enjoy as you avail of the said service. Take time to familiarize yourself and distinguish why it is a must to try the VoIP.

Conferencing made easy via the Internet. Internet conferencing is very popular, especially among the workers and their bosses. Wherever both parties are, they can still clearly communicate with each and one another. This is similar to how the voice or video conferencing or the chat room functions. Instead of flying over towards one destination, money gets saved up by this method.

Internet conferencing at a very affordable cost. For both the businesses and the individuals, this one offers a cheap substitute to the then conventional teleconferencing using the regular phone line. If all users make use of a similar conference call provider, then the conferences can take place clearly and without any additional cost for that matter.

Time and money saving. Again, conferencing using a traditional setup may cost too much money as well as consume a lot of time. If you have to consider the financial worries that may be heaped on you, it is important that you think of using the VoIP service.

A reliable equipment for Internet phone conferencing. If this is a tool that you must use, just be very sure that everyone is using the same compatible equipment so that the calls will transpire smoothly and clearly. It is through this that the common problems with lost data and interrupted communication are further avoided.

Revealing the Bad Side

Of course, there is no such thing that remains to be pure and true. For every good side comes the bad side. The VoIP service plans are really amazing yet there are a few things that may lead you to dislike it. First of all, with a power interruption comes the unavailability of the phone.

The regular phones can function well even when there is no power yet this is impossible with VoIP. The reason is that it is hooked up into the cable box which depends on the current to be able to run. Another part that often bothers the other users is that of the problem with the quality of the long distance call.

There are several individuals who are more than willing to attest that the VoIP phone service system is indeed worthy to try. This should be enough to convince you too, and give it a try. After all, its good side has more weight compared to its bad side.

Who Invented the Cell Phone?

 or

Gamma-Electrical Cell Inventor Dr. Henry Sampson Jr

Did you ever wonder who invented the Cell Phone? Ok, let's say that you are On a TV game show and have to answer this question to win $10M. The question is, who invented the cellular phone? In all probability most of us could not answer this question. Those of you who know are in a very small minority.

The inventor of the Cellular phone is Henry Sampson, Jr. Sampson is an African-American from Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Morehouse College and transferred to Purdue. He received an MS in Engineering from the University
Of California. He was awarded an MS in Nuclear Engineering from Illinois and his Ph.D from Illinois. Sampson is the first African-American to receive a Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering.

In 1971 Sampson was awarded a patent for the "gamma-electric cell." This technology was used in the cellular phone. Hopefully Dr. Sampson was well rewarded for his efforts.

All right, now that you have this information join the "Tell a Brother Club" by passing this information on to more individuals who are uninformed.

ALSO:

Forty years ago this month, Motorola engineer Martin Cooper changed the world by making the world’s first cell phone call. He stood on a New York City street on April 3, 1973, with a 10-inch-long, 2.5-pound phone, nicknamed “the brick” and called his engineering nemesis at the much bigger Bell Labs. “If we don’t blow ourselves up, this is going to be a really wonderful world.” And Cooper hasn’t looked back since.

The 85-year-old inventor and entrepreneur says “I only live for the future,” and claims the cell phone era is only just beginning. “The cell phones that we have today are really very awkward, but they’re getting better and better, and pretty soon the phone is going to be an extension of our mind, an extension of our body – and it’s going to make our lives much easier,” Cooper told Here & Now’s Robin Young. Future Breakthroughs Cooper sees other revolutions coming as a result of cell phone technology. “Just suppose that you could do a physical examination, not every year, which people do and which is almost worthless, but every minute, because you’re connected, and because we have devices that you can put on your body that measure virtually everything on your body.

If you could be sensing your body all the time and anticipate a disease before it happens,” Cooper said. A computer would process the data, Cooper said, and detect illness and disease before they took hold. It could then instruct a patient on what to do to stop the illness. “If you extrapolate that thought, we are going to eliminate the concept of disease. And I think that’s going to happen within the next generation or two,” he said. Cell phone inventor Martin Cooper's latest product is a phone for seniors. (amazon.com) Cell phone inventor Martin Cooper’s latest product is a phone for seniors called “Jitterbug.”

In addition to health care, he sees changes in education, as learning tools become more mobile and students are able to spend more time out in the world learning. “If we don’t blow ourselves up, this is going to be a really wonderful world,” Cooper said. A Phone For Every One Cooper’s latest product, which he created with his wife Arlene Harris, is an ultra-simple phone for seniors called the Jitterbug. “I hate the concept of trying to build a universal device that does all things for all people, because then it doesn’t do any of them very well,” Cooper said. “I think what is going to happen in the future is more customization, more personalization. We all are different and we ought to be able to customize and have a phone that does exactly what we want it to do – that is so easy to use that we don’t even have to think about it. That’s what the dream is.”
